Prospective Members

Membership for a student in the SNHS is conferred in the last two years of secondary school education. A student must maintain at least a 3.4 cumulative grade point average (unweighted) to be a member. In addition, the following qualifications must be met and maintained:
 

 

Average GPA of 3.5 or above (unweighted) in all science classes

To be provisional members in their junior year:
a. Students must have completed two honors science courses.
b. Students must also be enrolled in an upper level science course* during their junior year.

To be full members in their senior year:
a. Students must have completed three science classes (at least two being honors)
b. Students must be currently enrolled in or have completed an upper level science course*

Members must actively participate in a Churchill High School Science Club, by completing all of the following:
a. Attending at least 75% of the meetings of one subdivision of the Student Academy of Sciences.
b. Participating in or arranging one activity for Science Club members.

*Upper level courses include any AP science course, Anatomy, Honors Physics and Molecular Biology.
